Staff Information

Scott Schimke - Scott Schimke, ARM, has been involved in California pool management since 1988. He is the Risk Manager and Executive Director of GSRMA. His responsibilities include overall pool management, recommendation of and communication with re-insurance carriers, evaluation and recommendation of vendors and business partners and communication with the Board. Scott is the 2012 President of the CSAC Excess Insurance Authority (EIA).  He also serves on the EIA's Executive and Underwriting committees.

Dan Berry - Dan Berry has been in the insurance industry since 1989 as both an agent and a broker. He has 18 years experience with public agency insurance issues and 10 years of risk pooling experience. He is the Member Services Director for GSRMA. He is responsible for member communication, affiliated group relationships and new member facilitation. He oversees the quarterly newsletter, the annual membership report and periodic member surveys.
Dan serves on the Accreditation Committee for the California Association of Joint Powers Authorities.

Rick Krepelka - Rick Krepelka has 20 years experience in technology consulting with an emphasis in computerized accounting systems. He is responsible for all aspects of finance and accounting for GSRMA as well as the application of technology in the pool's operations. 
Rick is Past-Chair of the Technology Committee for the California Association of Joint Powers Authorities and is Vice-Chair of the Technology Committee for the CSAC Excess Insurance Authority.

Mark Marshall - Mark Marshall has 30 years in fire service, including 15 years as a fire chief. He has many years of public service as an elected official and volunteer. Mark became GSRMA's Safety Officer in 2002. As a certified instructor for numerous safety, loss prevention and compliance areas, his focus is on member loss prevention with an emphasis on safety training and site reviews.

Gale Hamon - Gale Hamon, WCCP, has 30 years experience in workers' compensation claims processing and management. He is the workers' compensation claims administrator in our claims department.

Cynthia Connelly - Cynthia Connelly, WCCP, CPDM, has worked in various aspects of GSRMA processes since joining the organization in 1989. She is adjusting workers' compensation claims and assists the respective claims manager with the processing of property/liability claims. She is also the membership contact person for certificates of insurance.

Cathy Mudd - Cathy Mudd has years of experience in public entity accounting processes. She is accounting manager and assistant to the Finance Director. She manages day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes. She also manages the accounting for the employee benefits program.

Kim McGeoghegan - Kim McGeoghegan is the Member Services Coordinator for the organization.  She provides customer service assistance to the Director of Member Services.  She is responsible for the member data maintenance in various internal and external systems. She is also responsible the annual training day.

Naomi Sharek - Naomi Sharek is the Administrative Assistant whose duties include general reception, production of the quarterly newsletter and the annual report and maintenance of the website. In addition, she is a claims assistant performing various administrative duties for the claims department. She also assists with member support for employee benefits.

Jennifer Peters – Jennifer Peters is the Loss Prevention/Special Projects Administrator.  She has five and a half years of experience as the Assistant Safety Officer for a local government agency.  She is responsible for assisting with the implementation and use of various programs that are in place for both members and internal staff including, but not limited to, online training, nurse triage and member contact management. She assists the Safety Officer with the development and delivery of training and loss prevention programs and conducts on-site visits to members to help facilitate loss prevention initiatives.
