As many now know, California passed several anti-harassment laws in 2018. The newly passed SB 1343 requires employers with 5 or more employees to provide harassment training to all employees (both supervisory and non-supervisory) by January 1, 2020. Volunteer fire fighters, part-time employees, temporary staff, as well as independent contractors are included in the minimum count of 5 employees. New supervisors must complete the training within 6 months of assuming their position and every two years thereafter.

To assist our members in meeting the new requirements, our online training platform, Target Solutions, is now offering two compliant trainings: “Anti-Harassment Training for All Employees – California (SB 1343)” – one hour training for all employees and “Anti-Harassment Training for Supervisors and Managers – California (SB1343/AB1825)” – two hour training for supervisors. If you do not have access to Target Solutions, or require assistance logging in, please contact our Loss Prevention Department, or call the GSRMA office at (530) 934-5633.

GSRMA will be offering additional compliant Harassment trainings for our membership in the fall of 2019. Please be on the lookout for an announcement in the next few months.

As always, GSRMA is here to help so compliance can be achieved by January 1, 2020. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact GSRMA Loss Prevention Department.
