Reducing Claims with Comprehensive Training: Vector Solutions

Reducing claims doesn’t happen by accident—it happens through preparation. With access to the Vector Solutions platform, GSRMA members have a powerful tool to proactively reduce risk through training that targets the most common sources of claims. From motor vehicle incidents and workplace injuries to employment
practices and cybersecurity exposures, the  Vector Solutions Course Catalog offers comprehensive, role-specific learning designed to prevent losses before they occur.

Many of the highest-cost claims stem from everyday activities. That’s why courses in Motor Vehicle Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, and Human Resources are especially impactful for special districts to  ensure staff are staying on top of their training. Other courses, such as defensive driving, distracted driving prevention,
ergonomics, slips and falls prevention, harassment prevention, and workplace violence training all help employees recognize risks, follow safe practices, and make better decisions in real time—reducing both the frequency and severity of claims.

The catalog also supports emerging and evolving risks. Cybersecurity awareness, data protection, de-escalation techniques, and leadership training help organizations respond to modern challenges that can quickly escalate into costly incidents or liability exposures. By reinforcing communication, accountability, and situational awareness, training becomes a critical layer of defense across departments—from administrative offices to public safety and field operations.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to share that our 2026 training calendar is lining up with a full schedule of member-focused trainings available within the Vector Solutions platform. We encourage members to plan ahead, assign courses strategically, and make training a consistent part of your risk management approach. When training is intentional and ongoing, safer outcomes—and fewer claims—naturally follow.
